Zaha Hadid Architects Unveils The Delmore: Miami’s Oceanfront Mansions in the Sky
Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA) has unveiled its design for The Delmore, a luxury residential tower located in the exclusive "Billionaire's Triangle" in Surfside, Miami. This oceanfront condominium, the first U.S. project by DAMAC International, promises to redefine luxury living with its fluid design and unparalleled amenities.
Situated on a two-acre site at 8777 Collins Avenue, The Delmore boasts 200 feet of pristine beachfront. This boutique building will house only 37 expansive "mansions in the sky," with residences starting at 7,000 square feet. With a maximum of four residences per floor, privacy and space are prioritized, offering residents breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, Biscayne Bay, and the iconic Miami skyline.
The Delmore embodies ZHA’s signature architectural style, defined by fluid curves and organic forms. The building’s sculptural façade, with its undulating lines and stacked crescents, creates a dynamic and expressive presence. A striking canyon-like passage cuts through the north and south wings, forming a dramatic entrance from the porte-cochère to the grand double-height lobby, leading to a serene meditation garden overlooking the ocean.
Perhaps The Delmore’s most remarkable feature is its 75-foot-long transparent pool, suspended 125 feet above ground. Visible from Collins Avenue, this "water-filled bridge" serves as both a functional amenity and a bold architectural statement, setting a new standard of luxury in the region.
Privacy is a fundamental pillar of The Delmore’s design. The expansive wraparound terraces, staggered floor by floor, ensure that no residence is aligned vertically, maximizing residents’ seclusion. Sculpted architectural fins along the façade provide shade and enhance the sense of exclusivity.
Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA) will craft the interiors, delivering fully finished residences with private entry foyers from the elevator and expansive living spaces. HBA will design all bathrooms and closets, while custom Molteni&C kitchens will feature intricately sculpted marble islands. The overall aesthetic blends craftsmanship with modern luxury, transforming each unit into a private sanctuary.
The Delmore offers over 55,000 square feet of luxury amenities. The rooftop terrace, featuring the suspended pool, will also include lounge areas, a summer kitchen, and panoramic views. The lobby level will house a resort-style fitness center, yoga and Pilates studios, and a 75-foot indoor lap pool.
Miami-based CLAD Landscape Architecture & Design, led by Carolina Monteiro, will oversee the landscaping, emphasizing a harmonious connection with the natural surroundings. The lush gardens will include meandering pathways, outdoor reflection spaces, and a full beach experience with personalized services overseen by dedicated beach butlers.
Located next to Indian Creek and minutes from Bal Harbour, Surfside completes the coveted "Billionaire’s Triangle," a revered destination in South Florida.
