Greek Isles
A short ferry ride from Santorini, the quieter island of Folegandros boasts its first luxury resort thanks to an Australian who discovered its charms through word of mouth. Gundari’s guests can stay in suites and villas—all with water views, some with private pools—and hit the onsite spa and Orizon restaurant conceptualized by a Michelin-starred Greek chef. Explore the local town and beaches, too.

Rosewood Schloss Fuschl occupies a castle once owned by the Prince-Archbishops of Salzburg. Surrounded by mountains, the gorgeous setting also celebrates its namesake lake. Rooms and suites offer full or partial water views, while lakefront chalets come with a private butler. Several onsite restaurants serve cuisine with local ingredients, or catch your dinner. Enjoy the spa and pool here, and music in Mozart’s nearby birthplace.

Mallorca
Debuting in August, a 1920s’ retreat has been reinvented as Four Seasons Resort Mallorca at Formentor. Upon arrival at the property’s private dock, guests have little reason to leave this paradise with its new beach club, multiple pools, hiking trails and a working vineyard. They can also play tennis and practice yoga, receive spa services, and dine at seven restaurants opening in stages through 2025.

Saudi Arabia
Adding to Saudi Arabia’s luxury tourism, Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve feels similar to holidays in the Maldives. Shell-shaped villas form a connected circle in the Red Sea, where guests are further immersed in the exotic setting with panoramic windows, private pools with water views and telescopes to study night skies after sipping the restaurant’s astrology-inspired cocktails. A spa and diving center offer more pampering and adventures.
