Miami Beach's Fontainebleau Debuts $100 Million Coastal Convention Center

Miami Beach's iconic Fontainebleau expands with the Coastal Convention Center, a stunning new venue designed for grand gatherings.

Miami Beach Prepares for Meetings and Events Boom

The Fontainebleau Miami Beach is nearing completion on its luxurious Coastal Convention Center, expected to open in November. This $100 million expansion caters to the growing demand for grand gatherings, offering 45,000 square feet of state-of-the-art meeting space and accommodating up to 1,000 guests.

Bookings are already underway for business and social events extending into 2026, reflecting the anticipated surge in Miami Beach's meetings and events industry. The five-story facility, conveniently located next to the iconic hotel, boasts features like underground parking and boasts a footprint roughly the size of 10 basketball courts.

Fontainebleau Modernizes for a New Era

The Fontainebleau Miami Beach, a South Florida mainstay since 1954, is undergoing a significant transformation. Owned by Fontainebleau Development, led by Jeffrey Soffer, the iconic resort is adding the luxurious Coastal Convention Center to its existing 100,000 square feet of meeting space. This expansion reflects Miami Beach's growing popularity for large events and caters to a diversifying guest base.

Designed for Flexibility:

The five-story, 45,000-square-foot Coastal Convention Center offers a modern meeting space ideal for a variety of events, from extravagant weddings and social galas to smaller corporate functions and breakout sessions. This expanded capacity allows the Fontainebleau to host multiple events simultaneously, maximizing its potential.

A Nod to History:

While boasting a contemporary design by Miami-based Nichols Architects and interiors by Jeffrey Beers International, the Coastal Convention Center pays homage to the Fontainebleau's rich history. A grand staircase echoes the hotel's famous "Stairway to Nowhere," a beloved architectural feature.

Beyond Tourism:

This expansion signals the Fontainebleau's focus on attracting business travelers and solidifies Miami's position as a prime destination for major events. With the tourism industry typically slowing down in summer months, the new convention space creates opportunities for increased revenue through year-round corporate and social events.

A Bright Future:

Despite facing challenges during the pandemic, the Fontainebleau Miami Beach seems to be back on track. The Coastal Convention Center marks a significant investment in its future, attracting diverse clientele and solidifying its position as a leader in Miami's booming events scene.
